It is usually quite affordable and will save you money and hassle in the long run.Roof Check Ensure you have a safe ladder before climbing up to check your roof. Here's what your looking for: Shingles that are buckling, curling or blistering, loose materials, wear around pipes or excessive shingle granules in the gutters. How to Clean Your GuttersClean Your Gutters  For gutters to work properly, they need to be clear of debris and leaves, if they aren't, the gutters and drainspouts will become clogged and eventually overflow, causing the gutters to become loose. Window CheckEnsure all your windows and screens are in working condition. Spend one day this summer pressure washing the outside of your home, not only will your house look nice and clean, it will also protect the siding from unnecessary wear and tear. If you don't want to do it yourself, hire a student!Carpet CleaningMost of us aren't home much during the summer, this is a great time of year to get those inside carpets cleaned. Rent a carpet cleaner for the day, or if you have stubborn stains, or kids and pets, hire a carpet cleaner. Look for discounts and promotions in the mail, newspaper and even on Facebook!Organize Laundry RoomThe laundry room is one area of the home that we strongly recommend staying on top of. • 0 FIVE NEW ORGANIZATION TIPS TO COMBAT CLUTTER

5 New Organization Tips to Combat ClutterDespite your best efforts to keep it clean, your kitchen can easily become a cluttered mess. All of the necessities you need to keep on hand seem to compete for precious space, creating a room that looks messy and disorganized.Rather than admit defeat, you can reclaim a clean and organized kitchen by using a few simple and practical remedies. These strategies allow you to have your necessities readily available and keep burgeoning messes in check.1. Magazine File Cabinet HoldersSometimes the greatest resources for kitchen organization are designed for entirely different purposes. Magazine files, for example, are perfect for installing inside your cupboard doors to hold practical items like boxes of tin foil and plastic wrap. These files are versatile, affordable, and can be found at any discount or big box store.2. Under the Sink RodsYou may well know the hassle involved with trying to find spray cleaners kept in the cabinet under your kitchen sink. The bottles often get knocked over or pushed to the back, making it difficult for you to grab what you need. By installing a spring rod in the cabinet, you create the ideal place to hang the bottles by their nozzles. You can quickly grab the bottle you need without having to search for or reach toward the back of the cabinet3. Narrow Storage ShelvesThe space in between the appliances and the counter can be the perfect place to put a narrow, yet handy storage rack. The ideal set of shelves for this space should be tall and move laterally so that you can just pull it out whenever you want to get something off the storage racks. These shelves can be perfect for storing canned goods or spices that do not yet have a home in your cupboards or pantry.4. BasketsUsed properly, baskets also can provide a handy place to keep necessities like sponges, sink stoppers, dish cloths, and more. You can place a basket near your sink or also keep baskets on top of your cupboards directly under the ceiling if you have such a space in your kitchen. Instead of letting these smaller items sit loose in drawers or on top of the counters can have a place and be right there when you need them.5. Tissue Boxes for Plastic BagsYou may be like many people and save your plastic grocery bags to use as small trash liners and other purposes. Rather than let them lay loose or take up drawer or cabinet space, you can keep them organized in empty tissue boxes. Whenever you need a bag, you can easily pull one out of the box without having to dig in a drawer or cupboard.Organizing your kitchen is easy with these tips. However, when you want your kitchen to be as clean and organized as possible, let a professional cleaning service help you even more. Contact Perfection Cleaning BC now to take advantage of this service's dependable, thorough, and worry-free kitchen and home cleaning. Don't forget to check out our Summer Checklist!

We all know how to get the job done, and we just want you to get it done faster. I'm sure you have some cleaning secrets that you've been true to since you moved on from the nest. In this article we have compiled a list of our Top 20 House Cleaning Tips you just can't live without, from the bathroom to the laundry room, messy stains; we got you covered.  1. A made bed is a kept bedroom, when you wake up each morning, pull the covers up to your chin, then scissor-kick your way out of bed so it'll be half made. Finish the job before you proceed to get ready for the day.2. Create the ultimate scrubbing paste for your cast-iron pan, with olive oil & a teaspoon of coarse salt. Scrub it in with a stiff brush, then rinse with hot water. There's so many great uses for olive oil.3. The Kitchen Sink, is a breeding ground for bacteria, potentially being more unsanitary than a toilet! To disinfect, clean your sink with soap and water first, then spray a mist of vinegar followed by a mist of hydrogen peroxide, and let air-dry. (Don't mix the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide together—spray one after the other.) 4. Get rid of carpet stains by sprinkling baking soda over the affected areas, then spray with Vinegar, let it sit for a few hours. Once it has soaked in, scrub the stains loose, vacuum and that's it! Bye Bye Stain!5. Organize Mail and Ads before you bring them into the house, having a designated mail organization spot at your front door will eliminate paper piles all over your kitchen. 6. To remove marker pen off hard surfaces, spray on hair spray and then wipe it off. If you have little ones; this one might come in handy. 7. Have designated spaces in your multipurpose laundry room separate gift wrapping, odds and ends storage, and laundry. Canvas cubes in the same colour, or pattern, keep the room looking organized and modern.8. Vacuum or dust mop daily to reduce dirt, grime and more from settling in ot your floors and burying deeper into the grain.9. Disinfect your sponge  every night by wringing it out and microwaving it on high for a minute. When it's falling apart and stinky, bust out a new one.10. An oldie, but a goodie: To clean the bottom of your iron, sprinkle some salt on the ironing board, then iron back and forth several times.11. Clean baseboards in your home by rubbing the border with a dryer sheet. This removes the dust AND coats the area to prevent more particles from accumulating. 12. While cleaning, ALWAYS THINK top to bottom. This ensures any crumbs or dust that falls on the floor while you are cleaning the house get swept up last. And believe it or not, there's a right way to sweep.13. If you own pets, brush their fur often to prevent dust bunnies and accumulated fur. Have a hand held vacuum in a convenient place along with a lint roller. Keep it by the front door so you can de-fuzz before that important meeting.14. Buff your stainless steel by applying several drops of mineral oil onto a microfibre and buffing. This prevents water buildup, which deters mold from growing and makes the sink look new longer. 15. Never Put Trash Down – Whether it is a piece of paper or a food wrapper, NEVER set it down. Get in the habit of holding it in your hand until you can reach your trash can. Whether it's the bedroom, bathroom, living room or office, there's a place for garbage!16. Glass windows can be cleaned by adding one TBSP of cornstarch to 1L of warm water. Wet and a rag or squeegee, remove excessive water and wipe down glass as if using regular glass cleaner. Dry with either a soft cloth or paper.17. Sanitize your chopping block board by squeezing 1/2 of a lemon all over, and let the citric juice absorb for atleast 10 minutes -It works on plastic cutting boards or wood. Watch as the stains loosen, then kill any remaining bacteria by scrubbing the other half of the lemon all over the board. 18. To save time after dinner, adjust your schedule to turning the dishwasher every night after dinner, and put them away before bedtime. You will start each day with clean dishes. 19. Grout is porous & absorbs oils from shampoos, conditioners, and soaps, which contribute to the growth of mold and mildew, which spreads to the tiles it surrounds. Mix 10 part water to 1 part bleach and a soft-bristled brush. Follow up with a  cleaner to remove the bleach mixture from your grout.20. Timing is everything! Track how long it actually takes you to do the household chores, you'll be shocked on how little time some tasks may take. This will help your housework seem like less work. IF YOU FOUND THESE TIPS USEFUL, FEEL FREE TO LIKE & SHARE, OR COMMENT BELOW

  • 0 How to Clean Your Stainless Steel Appliances

Stainless steel is notorious for not living up to its name, stainless. Stainless Steel appliances make your kitchen space look sleek and modern, there's no doubt about that. In fact, one of the sure ways to increase the value of your home is to purchase matching a stainless steel fridge, stove and dishwasher. Maybe a wine fridge as well, why not! We love the look of stainless steel, keeping it clean and finger print free is a whole different story. Especially if you have little ones with 'who knows what' on their fingers. That's what we're here for, to help you learn how to clean your stainless steel appliances! What's the point of having a wealth of knowledge and experience if we don't share it with our fans? There are several methods and products that will work to clean your appliances,  we are going to keep it simple and effective. First things first, just like wood, stainless steel has a grain. When you are cleaning your appliances, MAKE SURE you are wiping in the same direction of the grain. Note: not all grains are created equal, find out which way yours runs. There are two products that work just as well as an expensive and chemical heavy stainless steel cleaner. One is Windex, the second being Dish Soap. For te purposes of this blog, we are going to use a mild dish soap.Dishsoap is a super hero of cleaners when it comes to fighting grime off dishes...and appliances! Go Figure? Using dish soap will clean excess oils off  of the steel, and make polishing much more enjoyable! Apply a small amount to your cleaning rag, preferrably microfibre or cotton. Rinse with a small amount of water, just enough to make your rag damp Wipe along the grain line of your appliance. For extra stubborn fingerprints, you may need to go over the area a few times.  When finished cleaning an area, make sure you dry any water marks and streaks with a dry towel. This will ensure a streak free surface. Additional Care: Use Olive, Mineral or Baby Oil to protect your appiances from potential future fingerprints, smudge marks and scratches. We recommend applying your oil of choice to a cloth and wipe on the clean appliance to buff the surface! We used Olive Oil and it gave the fridge a nice, dark, clean finish. The extra 10 minutes spent was well worth it! AND VOILA! YOUR STAINLESS STEEL IS STAINLESS ONCE MORE! HAVE AN IDEA FOR OUR NEXT BLOG? COMMENT BELOW!

  • 0 Grout it Out - How to Clean Grout

Have you ever walked into a hotel or restaurant bathroom and noticed the whole room feels dirty, simply because of the dirt stained grout in between some seemingly nice floor tile? Cleaning tile grout can be a tedious and time consuming task, but the reward is worth it! By effectively cleaning the grout on your tile floor or shower walls, it will give the appeal of a brand new surface. This is also a task that you may not need to do more than a couple times a year. Plus, your home may not have as much traffic as public areas. *If you are looking for tips for your business, we strongly recommend keeping your grout in tip-top shape to ensure customer satisfaction and reduce the risk of negative reviews* As you can see from the photo above; clean grout makes the world of a difference, and it really doesn't take too much to make yours look like perfection! Before you start on your grout-cleaning-mission, make sure you wipe, vacuum and properly prepare the area from dust, dirt, or whatever else may be hanging out on your grout. You will also want to select the right grout cleaner for your project, to ensure all that dirt, mold, and soap scum are gone! There are several great 'Green' products on the market as well, so depending on preference or how much build up there is a product for all needs. Some of the benefits for 'going green include: biodegradable, non-carcinogenic, concentrated, non-combustible and gentler on the skin, not to mention the heavy fumes some products let off. You shouldn't need a gas mask to clean grout!   Get a bucket & scrub brush: I would recommend a toothbrush as well as a grout brush. To save time and increase your effectiveness, we recommend aMulti Surface Floor Cleaner. Carefully read instructions. Many products require you to dilute the cleaning solution with cold water, and make sure you test a small area first to make sure it will work without ruining surface Use a sprayer to apply the solution to the grout and tile. Don’t panic if you results aren’t instant.  Let the product sit there so it can effectively penetrate the dirty surface.. The longer it sits on the grout, the less scrubbing you’ll have to do! Now that's what we cal working smart! Time for the fun part!! Get your scrubber or prepare your multi surface cleaner, and it's time to battle that muck. The amount of scrubbing you will have to do all depends on how dirty the grout is, & effectiveness of your scrubbing tool or machine. Rinse surface thoroughly with water. TaaDaa! Your grout is sparkling and perfectly clean! To keep your grout looking clean longer, apply a sealant to keep out moisture and more. Check out the video below!     If you have any other great tips for grout and tile cleaning, please let us know in the comments below! • 0 Sacred Granite Deserves TLC

Why should your granite and stone be sealed?Granite is a natural stone made up of different interlocking mineral crystals. The mineralogy is vastly different from granite to granite. This difference produces the nearly infinite color ranges of granite, the size of the crystals and the porosity of the stone. Some granite has small cracks in the material from natural stresses that happened while the granite was still part of a mountain. Colored fruit juices, cooking oils, grease, fats, marker pens and anything that has color in it can seep into these small fissures and cracks. The resulting discoloration can be very difficult to remove. Sealers act like a shield to prevent stains from entering the granite in the first place. Now, with that being said, there are small areas of the granite that should be sealed just after the granite is installed. It is a great idea to apply a sealer to the areas immediately adjacent to where sinks, faucets and cooktops will be installed on or under the granite.Faucets, cooktops and overmount sinks hide small areas of granite that can be still be attacked by liquids that might seep under a seal. Apply the granite sealer to the polished surface of the granite as well as the rough cut holes and edges where these different fixtures will be installed.Perfection Cleaning will ensure your granite counter tops are sealed and maintained with precision to ensure that your kitchen investment holds its value, and your house cleaning is kept up with customized maid services. • 0 Top Housecleaning Tips for 2015

Happy New Year from all of us at Perfection Cleaning! With 2015 at our finger tips we thought this would be a great time to set some cleaning and organizational goals for the New Year! Do you want to be more organized this year? Great, so do we! But, we do not want to spend the entirety of the year doing so. Setting Goals are like appointments for your own well being, like a doctor or dentist appointment. You do not want to forget, or reschedule. You do want to write it down, and even comment on how you are going to achieve these goals. Ironically, the best way to be successful is to be organized. This could mean your home office, filing and prepping all your paperwork for the 2014 tax season approaching, you email inbox or ridding your desk of dreaded clutter! (You all know how we feel about clutter). We have created a list for you, the top 5 tasks to help you start the year off organized.Your Kitchen - Many of us spend a seemingly long amount of time each day in the kitchen. Between prepping and eating meals, doing dishes, making coffee, and staring into the fridge deciding what to make the family for dinner. I would guess that if you do majority of the cooking in your home, you spend up to two hours of your day in the kitchen. Imagine, if your kitchen was perfectly clean and organized... you could save yourself some time AND feel calm and comfortable enjoying this space in your home. Spend 30 minutes this evening looking into your cupboards and drawers, now take out EVERYTHING you didn't use in 2014 and put it in a box at your front door to donate. Peer into your pantry, has anything expired? Is there junk food from the holidays you don't need? Throw it away, and give the shelves a quick wipe. Finally, what is under the kitchen sink? Get rid of the abundance of plastic grocery bags and ensure your cleaning product inventory is stocked.Everyday Storage - Let's forget all about organizing under the stairs and deep cleaning the carpets for a moment. A great place to regain some order is your everyday clutter solutions. Do you have a place for your bills, keys, purses and kids backpacks, magazines & books? All of these things are used daily, and if they do not have a place, it can create clutter and unwanted mess. Assess your front entrance, find some great storage solutions and voila! Less stress, less mess. Read How to Build and Entry Bench with Cubbies and HooksClothing - Purging your clothes is an excellent way to start the new year off with reduced clutter. Don't skip this ritual this January!! Have you had a good hard look in your closet and drawers lately? How many articles of your clothes do you ACTUALLY wear? Move through one category at a time: drawers, then your clothes hanging, finally shoes and accessories. Pull out anything that’s stained and throw it in the trash. Next, take out anything you don’t wear regularly and put into a garbage bag. Put the bag by the front door to drop off at your local donation centre. If you're really feeling ambitious and you have kids, do the same for their closets. You'll be amazed at how much space you will find.Make-Up and Toiletries - Out with the old, in with the new. Just like the New Year, we need to rid ourselves of the expired foundation and decide which 5 of the 15 lotion bottles we really need in our life. Prioritize what make-up you want/need, and discard the colours and shades you haven't used in the last 6 months. This may also be a great time to clean, or purchase new make-up brushes. Did someone say shopping? Here is a great article on organizing your toiletries from a 'mother-daughter duo'.Day Planner / Calendar - Usually at the beginning of the year, you have an idea of events and upcoming important dates for 2015. Weddings, dance recitals, hockey tournaments, family vacations and of course, work deadlines. If you are still old school with your planning (Calendar and Day planner) we strongly recommend writing all the known dates in both locations ASAP. If it's on the calendar, it's a plan! Your family will also appreciate knowing what is happening in the days, weeks and months ahead. If you prefer to use the calendar in your phone, now is a good time to sit down and input these dates. By using all three, you will be mega organized... we like that!If you have kids, this calendar is an absolute LIFESAVER!! You can buy it at Walmart or StaplesIf you need any help with kickstarting your 2015 with a clean, organized home, contact us today!!
